Tuna Bisque - An Easy, Frugal, Cream Soup

This is a super easy tuna bisque recipe that starts out with canned condensed soups. It's ready in a jiffy. The garnish, though optional, is easy to add and really makes it look homemade.

Recipe for Tuna Bisque

1 can condensed cream of potato soup
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
2 soup cans milk
1 can (7 oz.) tuna
Hot pepper sauce, optional
Chopped chives for garnish, optional

Directions:

Combine the canned soups and milk into a saucepan. Heat on medium, stirring occasionally, until heated through. Add the tuna and simmer for another minute or so.

If everyone you are serving this to likes a bit of kick in their food, add a few shakes of hot pepper sauce to it when you add the tuna. Otherwise, let everyone add the hot pepper sauce at the table, if they choose.

A sprinkling of chopped chives makes a colorful and tasty garnish. You can use either fresh or dried. If you don't have chives, dill weed or parsley will work as good substitutes.

For a simple supper, serve this tuna bisque with crackers and raw fruit. It's frugal. And, you can have it ready faster than you can get a pizza delivered.

It also goes great with grilled cheese sandwiches.

Variations:

I've seen similar recipes that called for a can of condensed cream of broccoli soup or a can of condensed cream of asparagus soup, instead of the condensed potato soup. Since I'm not fond of either canned broccoli or canned asparagus soups, I've never tried it with those. However, most any condensed cream soup that you'd like to use should work.
